We recently visited friends in Idaho.  I am so glad I got to acquire Zack's friends when I married him.   We stayed with his friends from college.  I've heard so much them and seen so many pictures and videos of them.  It was a visit that was a long time coming and way overdue.  Needless to say, we were giddy and happy the whole time we were with this awesome family.  For the first time in my life I considered living in Idaho one day.  That is how cool they are!

camping at the beach

We've made some good friends since we've lived here and we went camping at Twin Harbors State Park in Westport, WA with some of them this past weekend.  We had been planning on this camping trip since well before the baby was born.  I was so glad that I and the baby were doing well enough to go just one month after delivery.  It was a beautiful area and we were so close to the ocean that we could hear the waves crashing constantly.  It wasn't the California-like beach weather that I'd packed for (like a silly and hopeful city girl) but it was fun and relaxing nonetheless.  We can't wait to go next year!

flower weeds

Redmond, WA has the most beautiful wild flowers I've ever seen.  Red, orange, yellow, white, purple, blue, and daisies - my favorite.  I love them and I think its safe to say that Odin knows it.  He picks them for me all the time even the measly little weed flowers in our yard.  Too bad they don't stay around for the rain...

we love airplanes

Anytime we hear a helicopter or airplane of any type Odin stops whatever he is doing to look up in the sky for the "A me".   Naturally, when we found out about the anual air show, a part of Seafair in Seattle, we knew we had to take our biggest air vehicles fan to see it.  Sure enough, he loved every bit of it.  We all did.

one month

Today Haven is one month old.  We like her quite a lot.  I think its safe to say that we're adjusting well to life with two littles.  Odin has been a gem, Zack never seems to run out of energy and Haven has been pretty good (except that one night after I ate a whole bag of black licorice... I don't think she liked that very much).  The newness is starting to fade but the happiness of this great life event is growing.  We love our little family of four!

making it home

I'm still at it... trying to make our house a home.  

Here some of the latest ideas.

source - love this rug - I'll paint our similar black and white rug to give it some flavor

source - decorate with baby's breath or at least have it out during the gloomy season(s)

source - blow up landscape and sky pictures (so easy!) AND paint our boring rug with color

source - for living room focal point - make it ourselves

source - stack oversized and colorful cushions for comfy sitting are in loft

Ideas are good but for me I must post them somewhere for them to be remembered or executed.
Here's to making my house a cuter home!
