thanksgiving with friends

Now is the time to write about our Thanksgiving fun.  We've made some awesome friends that we're going to keep forever.  Before we all left on our Thanksgiving vacations we all got together for a pre-Thanksgiving feast.  If you ask me, I think its the best idea.  I love Thanksgiving foods and it was nice to get to taste it two different times rather than stuff my face all at once.

A couple families slept over night and we had a blast.  We spent the time cooking, laughing, playing games, four-wheeling and eating all of the goodness.  There were so many tasty foods and pies.  And there were tons of kids!  I highly recommend doing a pre-Thanksgiving feast next year.  I might even consider a pre pre-Thanksgiving feast.  Thats how much I loved it.

You can see more pictures that Zack took on Facebook.

Friends are good for your health.

 The dads and their kids.
We recently visited friends in Idaho.  I am so glad I got to acquire Zack's friends when I married him.   We stayed with his friends from college.  I've heard so much them and seen so many pictures and videos of them.  It was a visit that was a long time coming and way overdue.  Needless to say, we were giddy and happy the whole time we were with this awesome family.  For the first time in my life I considered living in Idaho one day.  That is how cool they are!

Kristy

You can see and read more about Kristy's story here.

This is my friend Kristy.  I met her when I was on my mission in NYC and we have been friends ever since.  She could be one of my sisters.  She is so talented and real and thoughtful and good.  I wanted to share her message to the world with you.

A blog about Iceland

I just wanted to mention that our Icelandic friend (she's so funny, sweet, amazingly artistic, wonderful, fun and gorgeous) has a blog all about Iceland?  You should definitely check it out!

Grand Central Station

Our friend is seeing the entire city it seems on this visit.  We decided that it would be a good idea to go to Grand Central Station during rush hour.  It was busy as expected.  Zack shot this photo of us standing still amidst the bustling crowd.  Can you find us?  There were so many armed officials standing guard.  But, in such a large place, I felt as though their small-bodied-in-comparison-protection was not as comforting at that scale.  Nevertheless, I was glad to see them there.

This picture will remind me of a good evening, exploring the city.  I am happy to have this image to add to my New York City book.  This place is wild and one of a kind!

a good night at bubby's

This was a good night.  We ate at Bubby's in Tribeca.  There was great food, great company, other loud kids there to drown out the loudness of our Odin boy and entertain him, and in a great part of the city.  Nothing beats spending good time with good people.  It had been too long since we saw them last so, it was great to catch up.  Hopefully we can see them again soon!  wink, wink

San Diego : Mission Beach

This was another highlight of the trip.  My good friend from college who has the same birthday as me lives in San Diego area with her family.  We spent the night and day with them before heading back to LA.

They introduced us to the best Mexican food place.  It sounds funny but I am really sad I didn't get a picture of the place.  It was so` good, I have craved it many times since we ate there.  (thanks a lot grant)  It was so good to see my friends and their kids and introduce them to my family.

It was the best time taking O Baby to the beach.  It was his first time at the Pacific Ocean.  It was a windy and colder day but he only smiled and played.  He didn't cry once.  Even when we put him in the waves and set him in seaweed, he just enjoyed it.  Is it really possible to have such an awesome child?  I am just a proud little mother, that's all.

//  That is all there was to our little California adventures.  I look forward to our next adventure, soon...
