I like gifts.

* One of my favorite things in the world is giving gifts. There's just something about thinking of and finding that perfect gift, prepping it, sending it at just the right time, and the excitement when it is received. I wouldn't say that "gifts" are one of my languages of love. Its just something I love to do. There's nothing wrong with that, right?  I made this card to go with the gift.  I can't wait for it to be received.

side note // as mentioned in the past, I had hoped to open my etsy shop tomorrow. It won't be opening just yet but this card is a sample of what I'll be selling. Like what you see? Check back soon for the shop opening and details.

week in the life : mini book / preview

This was a good week. I have this book to show for it. I really liked doing the week in the life project. Here's how I stayed focused and organized on this project: I had a spot on our desk designated for little cards and pens (I had a particular color scheme in mind) to write thoughts of different parts of my day. Whenever I went out, I brought a few cards with me. It was nice to have something to do (that I could easily stop if I needed to attend to my babe) while on the subway. Lastly, each day I took lots of pictures (but only shared a few here) that I'll add when they arrive. That should be sometime next week.

// Can't wait to share the finished product!

Week in the Life : Friday

It was hard to wake up this morning.  But I had to since I had a babysitter coming.  Yikes, was I slow waking up!

After I peeled myself out of the bed I had a rich diaper to change.  The babysitter showed up early which I totally appreciated.  She fed him and then they were off to the park.  I was left to do some deep cleaning in the house.  Hung up a billion items of clothing.  Did 2 loads of laundry.  Got a couple packages to send tomorrow.  Baby is home and babysitter gone.  Naptime for the baby.  Lunch time for me.  Got some packages - Yay!  Ordered 1000+ prints from our Iceland trip.   Baby awake. We play and feed him lunch.  Then another nap, this time I follow his lead.  Our walk was cancelled by the rain.  USTREAM with Zack.  Baby asleep, I relax and enjoy my new bottle of lemonade ( I love to reuse these after, they're the coolest bottles.)  Finally Zack is home only to leave in hours for a week of work.

//  This post concludes my Week in the Life documentation.  I will be ordering the prints tonight to pick up next week.  I can't wait to share the mini book I documented it all in.

Week in the Life : Thursday

Today was a nice day.  We were out and about by 9AM.  Also, the baby and I laughed a lot.  He is starting to be silly on purpose.  It is really starting to get fun, this motherhood thing.  I love my boys!

*  Woke up early, Zack was sick but still changed the baby's diaper before he left.  I got dressed.  O Baby and I ate oatmeal, I always love the mommy and baby spoons in the bowl.  Got ready to document today.  Went out to do our grocery shopping.  Walked home and past the same sign (sad they have to make a sign about something that should be common sense.  That's New York for you) we walk by each day.  Visited my friend that just had a baby and brought her something I made.  Played with my baby, he's getting so fun.  We took a long nap and had a quick visit from some friends.  Felt good about a gift I gave.  Acted silly over dinner.  Now the baby is asleep and I am relaxing, enjoying some cherries and root beer.  Its been a good, long day.

//  Tomorrow is my last day of documenting this week.  I have a babysitter coming for a couple hours because I have some things I want to get done without interruption - packages to get ready, a project to complete and of course, the treacherous laundry to do.  Should be a good day.

waiting for the news

Lately...

... I feel like I've been waiting a lot.  Some of the events have past but we are still waiting for some news that might involve a move.  If we move great.  The waiting will end.  If we don't move, then this is what I'm going to do.  Sell some furniture, put up a temporary wall in our apartment to make a little room for our baby,  get a regular babysitter, and finally decorate like I want to.

But, then, again, we'll still be waiting.

This is actually a positive post.  Waiting isn't that excruciating, its just annoying.  We just need the news and then either outcome will be fine.  Its just the waiting.  I am excited for either the good news, or the good news.

The end.

Week in the Life : Wednesday

As you can imagine, this day was full of fun and documentation.  Enjoy some of the highlights from this day of Week in the Life.

*  I woke up right after Zack left for work.  I vacuumed.  Fed O Baby eggs, rice, yogurt.  Baby played then napped early.  Organized my day and the rest of the week.  Baby awake early, played then ate.  (No, I am not pregnant.)  We went on a walk to document our neighborhood a bit.  I guess it was trash day.  Lots of green plants and blue skies.  O Baby sleeps.  I queue up some Netflix.  Thirsty for refreshing water.  Zack is home we eat some little pizzas.  Baby wakes up so we bring him out to play.  He is so cute with Zack.  We chat and laugh, check some blogs and shop online.  To bed!

//  Somehow this documenting is really keeping me on track with getting things done.  Tomorrow should be just as good, if not better.

new favorite movie

I am crazy about Midnight in Paris.  We saw it yesterday and we both LOVED it.  It was perfectly funny, charming, full of Paris sights, inspirational and uplifting.  It tops my list of Practical Magic (all because of the town and that house!  Its my dream house, garden, kitchen set up, dark wood floors, etc.), French Kiss (all about Paris and love).   - There are a others but for now, those are my favorites.  I've been thinking a lot about my dream home, Paris, a garden, and intellectual things, so that is why these movies are my tops.

//  Watch the trailer, then go see it and fall in love too...

Some fun pictures from our day of celebration.
Love is a good thing.

3 Years!

Today is our Anniversary!
3 years.
3 years and 1 child!
I am a very lucky girl, you have no idea.

Happy Anniversary to my Love.

* These little love notes above were written by Zack. When the baby and I returned home after a little vacation, Zack had already left for a short business trip.  He left these around the house (the middle one, for the baby, was in his crib and I didn't see it before I put him on it to sleep) for us to find when we got home.

I love Zack!

Week in the Life : Monday

Last night I saw a post about Week in the Life.  Aside from tomorrow, I have been dreading this week.  So, I am happy that now I have a little something to help all the moments pass.  This Monday through Friday, I'll document the daily details.  I'll definitely update here with some of the details.  Enjoy the day, so far, in photos.

* This was a good day.  Here's a bit about the images above:  My boy starting early, getting into all the goodies around the house.  My view of him as we are strolling to meet some friends.  With our friends in an elevator at Whole Foods.  Shopped for a summer dress to wear tomorrow.  Caught the train at Columbus Circle.  Enjoyed the clear street as we walked home.  Its warm, 81° in my kitchen, I guess I missed some cheerios.  Cameras and camera equipment everywhere, he's getting ready for a big trip.  My documenting tools in a little cup from my late Grandma.  O Baby had blackberries for the first time .  Fresh produce in my home makes me so happy, its the truth.  Got my anniversary post ready.  Then O Baby woke up and that is the cutest.  We went out to get the mail and took a step outside to see the rain.  Feed the baby and me egg fried rice.  Opened the mail.  Put together the first bits of this mini book.  Zack came home and was so happy to find his new bike!

//  Tomorrow's going to be a great/busy day!
